Monday!!

Ahhhh, another wonderful and very busy day! We started reading our pile 'o gingerbread man/boy/girl/cowboy books.Today it was a nice old fashioned one, and "The Gingerbread Baby", a beautifully illustrated book by Jan Brett.  These kindergartners are a great listening audience - it's so much fun to read to them.  I am able to "sneak" in so many language-art concepts as we discuss vocabulary, characters, and plot.  I want them to LOVE books!

We enjoyed a new math game "Count and Compare Butterflies".

Candace (Clark's mom) and I traced all of the children so they could have their own gingerbread people.  We let them choose the poses - some are standing quietly while others are running as fast as they can!

During math we took turns doing math tubs and some of us got to paint our gingerbread people.

On Wednesday we will mold, cover with candy and then bake our own gingerbread girl, pirate, baby, cowboy, dinosaur...  If anyone wants to come and help we will start first thing in the morning.  It's a half day and we are having an extra music so we have to fit it in early!

Your children are enjoying "Starfall" which is a good reading website (we did the gingerbread one today during free-choice time, and "Tux Paint", a free drawing program to download.

Please remember to send in some snack.....we are getting down to crumbs!
