Tuesday!!

Okay, we were only down five today.....good health is returning!!!

We worked on handwriting, patterns, following multi-step directions, and positional words...put the bear, behind, under, on, beside and the most fun - in the chair.

We read a a great story, "Sam and the Lucky Money".  A homeless man was one of the characters in the book.  This lead to a good discussion about how we can help others in our community.  The class came up with the idea of donating red jam to Helpline for Valentine's Day.  Don't you love it - something yummy and red.  So please send in a jar of red jam or jelly by next Monday, if you can.  I hope it is not too short of a notice but we gotta be spontaneous around here when you are working with kindergartners!

We practiced counting to 100 with a friend...

 .

Ms. Bautista, our occupational therapist, came and and did a lesson on "social smarts" and how we can be Social Detectives.  The book is "You Are a Social Detective".  Lots to think about and work on!

We had some interesting sharing today..

Please send in shoe boxes, and a jar of red jam.

Tomorrow we will have a festive morning doing some Chinese New Year activities and making almond cookies.  On Monday, we will have a Valentines Party.  And at the end of the month we will be celebrating 100's day.  Your child's homework will be to put together 100 items (counted out in tens is an easy way to do it) on paper or a poster.  Ideas are: Cheerios, marshmallows, pebbles, paper clips.....anything you can get your hands on that is cheap!  It will be another party for the month of February!!!!!
