Tuesday!

A beautiful sunny day for these kindergartners!  We started off the day talking about Chinese New year, reading "Bring In the New Year", "Chinese New Year" and "Grandfather Tang's Story".  We learned many new customs and can't wait for the lunar new year to begin!

We learned about tangrams! Tangrams are ancient Chinese puzzles that are still used today by many. Our tangrams begin with a square, which the kindergartners cut out and use to create a picture.  The rules are that each "tan" must be used; they must touch at least one other piece, but none may overlap!

During free choice the kindergartners decided to have a puppet show.  It was so cute - they spent most of their time making tickets and signs.
