Monday!

The day after Halloween AND three indoor recesses!!!!!!!!  Actually they all did quite well today.  Some look a tad bit tired but what the heck, it's Kindergarten - you can still get lots done!

Here's what we worked on today.....

Read some Fall books - we liked "Fall is for Friends".  We practiced recalling the order of events in a text - first, next, and last.

Shared journals and then spent some time filling another page.  The kindergartners love to stamp their finished page with the date.

We started our "A" literacy jobs with some making antelope headbands or apple-shaped books, or copying words that start with the letter "A" or listening to "There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed Some Leaves".

We made new calendar markers for our November calendar.

We started our "Wood and Paper" unit. The kindergartners compared five uniform samples of different kinds of wood, learned their names, and observed how they are alike and how they are different.

Busy day!

Can you please send an apple in with your child by Thursday?  We are going to do lots of apple activities and then make our own applesauce!

We had lots of latecomers today and four who stayed home....these little angels missed them!
