Wednesday Like Friday

We started the day by gathering around the flag pole to hear a few words about Veteran's Day from our principal, Mr. Ande.  We then all said the Pledge of Allegiance together while Mr. Adair raised the flag.  We came inside and read the book "The Pledge of Allegiance" to add to our knowledge about our country and flag.

Our school counselor, joined us again to continue our discussion around "Hands Are Not For Hitting".  These kindergartners came up with very thoughtful answers to many of Ms. DeSimone's questions.  We then talked about all that our hands can do - we can use our hands to....."climb a tree", help daddy cook", play an electric guitar", "eat our vegetables", go scuba diving".....very cute.  In kindergarten we talk about how it is important to tell someone you are sorry when you have done something to hurt their body or feelings.  And we always add the last piece;  "I'm sorry AND I won't do it again!"
