Tuesday!

Busy day...Ms DeSimone, our school counselor, came in to read us a book "Hands Are Not For Hitting".  A very nice discussion followed!

We read  a dinosaur book or two (liked "A Dinosaur Called Tiny"), worked on a predictable chart - "I Like...."  We will touch read our sentences, cut them up and make sentences getting in the correct order at the front of the room, glue them on paper in the correct order and then turn them into a book!

We started snack after a wet recess and then had to evacuate our room.  It was getting a little bit too "fumey" due to a maintenance truck parked outside of our class.  We were able to use a second grade classroom to read some stories (Simone's tree book and another instant favorite: "Captain Flinn and the Pirate Dinosaurs Missing Treasure!"), and eat some snack while they put a fan in our room to get rid of the odor. Thanks to a quick-acting group of teachers and staff, we were back to normal, wait make that typical, very quickly.  I love this Blakely community!

We played an unusual game of Bingo - ask your child about it!

And we finally made our Sawdust Wood or particle board.  I am trying to quickly post this blog before the custodian comes in to see the room he will have to vacuum!  Actually we kept it pretty tidy in here for a bunch of kindergartners!  Tomorrow we will make Sandwich Wood or plywood.  Let's see how much glue we can leave behind!
