Monday Monsters!

We are focusing on the letter "M" this week! That gives us a good reason to read books about Monsters!  Our two favorites for today were "monster mess" and "Always Listen to Your Mother".
We are making our very own monster books this week during our literacy jobs.  We are also making Me Mobiles and working on a class book about Halloween.

Today we discussed book titles and how they are an important piece of information.  I let them know when good readers look at the cover of a book, they also read the title and they can figure out what the book is about by asking themselves questions about the title!

In math we continue to learn about patterns; observing and discussing the characteristics of a pattern and copying and extending patterns.  We even used kindergartners to make a pattern and then copied it with Unifix cubes.

We continue to work on our Science Journals.....lots of good details - love the drawings showing the roots of the trees!

Tomorrow is a Vision and Hearing screening.  Results will come home soon...
