Poet Day!
We had the wonderful opportunity to listen to our favorite poet JACK PRELUTSKY today!!!! Can't tell you how exciting that was! He sang most of his poems, and oh were they funny - really had those kindergartners cracking up!!! He started to leave but I stopped and begged (I really was begging quite shamelessly) him to read our favorite poem "The Radish Shark", and he did! We also loved that he stopped by our classroom a couple of times throughout the morning just to chat! A big thank you to our amazing librarian, Kathleen Pool, for making this happen!
Another wonderful day at Blakely School!

The radish shark poem was the focal point of our dinner conversation tonight. The list of the things that this grandma needs to be informed about continues to grow. Thanks for the continuing education.
Orien has fallen in love with Jack Prelutsky's poetry! He has nearly memorized "The Radishark" poem. We're so excited he came to the school!
