Terrific Tuesday!

We are enjoying our tree study.  Today we talked about how trees are a home for many animals and birds; bird nests high up and out of sight, wasp nests under the tree branches, (I heard many wasp stories - it seems as though most of you have had an encounter with them!), insects and bugs living on and under the tree bark and animals who dig in the earth and live amongst the tree roots.  Fascinating stuff!  We worked on Tree Parts Puzzles!

We love our math tubs - playing with bugs is fun!  We sorted bug cards as a class and practiced the skills of observing and describing, sorting by likeness and differences and counting and comparing,

We are really learning how to do patterns - with our food and math manipulatives!

We learned what "picture walks" were today - when you flip through a book and look at the pictures BEFORE we read it.  We had fun listening for syllables in our names as we clapped out the word parts.

Lunch time and free choice time....always good!
